Smooth...very, very smooth
I gotta admit, I am smooth.  There's no other way to describe it.  I have continued my unbroken record for suave sophistication and skill when interacting with women on a social level.

For those of you that don't really know me (that would maybe be two of you) I'm about as charming as a rhino, as subtle as a brick through a plate glass window and as smooth as the Rocky Mountains (i.e. not very).

So, anyway, the lady in audit, who's all crazy kinds of good looking, was, as I discovered on my way to put a PC in storage, looking particularly attractive today.  True to geek form, I managed to look like a total idiot.  Basically as we passed, she said "Hi" as I said "Wow!" and then I promptly dropped the computer I was carrying on my foot.

Hey!  I saved the hardware!

I have the greatest parents in the world

I can't help but feel that I've got some of the most amazing parents in the world.  When life gives you a hard left hook, and I mean hammers you hard from out of nowhere, the sort of thing that just makes you want to crawl in a hole to die from frustration, shame and fear, it's good to know there's someone you can count on to bail you out.  That's my Mom and Dad.  I just got that giant left hook this afternoon, and it's going to make my life in general something of a bitch for the next six months, at the very least, but I'm going to get through it in good condition because Mom and Dad are there.

It's one of those things that had it come at me with a lot more notice I'd have been able to handle it, but coming at me suddenly and wham!  So, yeah.  It's good to run home every once in awhile and have your parents wave the magic parent wand and make it all better.  I'm knocked back on my heels, but Mom and Dad were there to catch me and I'll be back on my feet soon enough.

Thanks Mom and Dad!

Road to GenCon part 3

This is probably something that should have gone into Part 2, but it just didn’t seem to make it in.  In addition to registration yesterday we managed one more critically important thing for GenCon…we got ourselves accommodations.  Yeah, that’s right…we’ll have a place to sleep.

Sounds pretty simple, but it isn’t as simple as all that.  First off, GenCon reserves blocks of rooms for people attending the convention.  Fair enough.  You pre-register for the convention and you get a code and access to the blocks of rooms.  There’s a wide variety of hotels to pick from…maybe twenty or so.  You’d think that’d be enough, right?  HA!  Not even close.  Pre-reg for the Con starts in February, and hotel slots are available for reservation at the same time.  By the time we started thinking about going in April, 80% of those blocked rooms had been booked.  Doh.  We actually booked Monday morning before event registration.  We’re going to be staying in the Holiday Inn by the airport.  It’s good, with a nice list of amenities that tired gamers will definitely want to take advantage of.  It’s really the best we can do if we don’t register in February for a hotel in walking distance.

Spencerport Alumni Directory

Well, my entry in the Spencerport High School Alumni Directory is now updated.  Yay.  I got that little postcard thing, called in, and gave them the info.  Apparently they’ll be publishing an alumni book.  You know, the usual questions…verify the name and address, check.  Phone number?  No thanks, don’t want that listed.  Email?  Sure, you can have that.  Married?  Yeah, right, no where even close.  Children?  See previous response.  School?  Good old SBU.  Job?  Just a computer tech, ma’am.  Can we count on your support for this project?  You mean will I order a directory?  Not a chance.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I really don’t want one?  I wasn’t really all that enamored with SHS when I was there to bother.  Heck, I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head I feel a burning need to get back into touch with.  I think the saddest thing is realizing that it’s been nine years since I graduated from high school.  Nine years ago, standing outside the Eastman Theater, I couldn’t really imagine where I’d be as my ten year reunion approached.  It wasn’t that I didn’t try…its just one of those things where you haven’t a clue until you get there.  Yeah, you know you’ll have a job and friends and a place to live and whatnot, but that’s a pretty flat thing, when you think about it.  It’s living it that gives it color and texture.  Yes, you’ll have friends…but what will they be like?  What will you do together?  What kind of job?  How much will you make and what will that mean?  What choices will you make, good and bad?

The really odd thing is looking back at myself then and now.  I’m both utterly unchanged and profoundly different at the same time.  I’m still a nerd.  I love history, sci-fi and fantasy and read them whenever I can.  I can and do debate the tactics of Manstein and Zhukov one minute and the logistics of the Dominion War in the next.  I’m still an avid wargamer and I work with and play on computers every day.  I try to stay physically active but I’m far from what anyone would ever call a truly gifted athlete, and I still have a good ear for music.  Nothing, really, has changed.  Inexplicably, though, I’m a totally different person.  If my past self could meet me now he’d barely recognize me.  It’s a strange thing.

Thoughts on Boxing
Yes, I know this is a really random topic, but I can’t help it. The recent fight between De La Hoya and Mayweather has inspired me to write about a topic I usually couldn’t care less about. Billed as the Fight to Save Boxing, it was hardly that.

I know what you’re thinking…boxing is a brutal sport that’s fast going the way of the dodo. I’d say its popularity in the United States in plummeting, but I’m not sure that’s really accurate. Rather, its popularity has plummeted, and at this point it’s reached bottom and started to dig. There’ve been years of bad press, most notably involving Mike Tyson in one way or the other, but there’ve also been accusations of rigging and a variety of other scandals. More to the point, most people would be hard pressed to name two active boxers, especially since this was probably De La Hoya’s last fight. The sport that gives us such incredible icons…Ali, Foreman, Frasier and a host of others has faded to a distant memory. Boxing once occupied a place of legend in American sports. Even the least interested of us knows of the Rumble in the Jungle and Ali vs. Frasier. There hasn’t been a fight like that in decades, and the last one we can really recall was in a Rocky movie. Boxing no longer permeates American culture they way it once did. Why is that?

Could it be evolving sensibilities? Some would make the argument that fighting and martial prowess are no longer valued in our newly sensitive Western culture, but frankly, I think that’s crap. One only has to look at the rise in popularity of the martial arts to know that, and boxing is simply a Western martial art form. Heck, just watch TV some time and you’ll know that violence hasn’t gone out of style in the US or the world.

Maybe it’s a decline in quality. After all, there aren’t any names like Ali or Foreman anymore. De La Hoya is the closest you get, and even if he sticks around for a while longer, he physically can’t go much more than another year or two. Certainly there aren’t very many at the true pinnacle of boxing, but while the lack of competition might be part of the reason boxing is declining in popularity, it’s really just a symptom…or at least part of a cycle. Quality declined, so young athletes did something else, like basketball, so no big names went to boxing, which meant it moved a little bit more out of the American consciousness , which meant that fewer athletes went to boxing, so quality declined, and so on. Even so, I don’t think that’s the root cause.

What is, you may ask? Well, let me start by saying this…neither I nor anyone else I know watched this most recent fight. So why does my opinion mean anything? It’s because of why I chose not to watch it…Pay-Per-View. Quite simply, I’m not going to pay $50 to watch a boxing match. Hell, I’m not going to go through the effort and annoyance of paying even $1 to my TV for the privilege of watching a sport that’s lost its relevance. The greatest fights in boxing history, when broadcast on TV, weren’t broadcast on PPV. At the time, pay per view didn’t exist. They were free to the public sitting at home, in a way that is very similar to football, basketball, baseball and hockey today. If you had to shell out $20 a game every time you wanted to watch basketball on TV, I’m willing to bet the sport would all but vanish, because people will stop watching it. It’s what’s happened to boxing.

If boxing wants to resurrect itself it’s got to stop pricing itself out of the market. People aren’t going to choose to pay a lot of money to watch one event that may only last five minutes when they already have access to five other events for what is essentially for free. I sometimes watch The Contender on ESPN. Had the fight been available to me on normal cable or network TV I probably would have watched it, and it isn’t unreasonable to think that some of my friends would have been over to watch it with me. If boxing wants to survive, it’s going to have to dump Pay-Per-View.

The Road to GenCon part 2
The last few days have been interesting.  I've been checking the GenCon events list for updates and poking around the forums to see what's hot that I might have missed.  All of that effort and time and concentration was for today.  At 3:00 pm Eastern Time, somewhere in America a server screamed as 5000 geeks tried to register for events all at once.

To give you some perspective on what I had to wade through, let me give you a quick rundown.  There are about a half dozen event categories...board games, historical miniatures games, non-historical miniatures games, live-action roleplay, normal RPGs, workshops for crafting various things, seminars on things like painting, and various lecture series by authors and designers.  Spread among those various categories were a hair over 5000 events as of 3:00 pm EDT today.  People across the country started wading through a vast spreadsheet, looking for the gems that interested them and then somehow finagling things so they had a working schedule.  It's very easy to overschedule so that you're playing from 8:00 am to midnight or 1:00 am.  It's just way too easy to burn yourself out, so you have to remember to pace pace yourself.  Leaving at least a 2 hour gap between events for rest and food is a must, even though it's incredibly hard to do at times.

No matter.  At 3:00 pm I typed the events that I really wanted to get into.  They were in no particular order:
LEGO Pirate Wars!
Chain Maille workshop
Bring Me the Head of Neil!
The Dragon's Revenge
GenCon Orientation Tour
BSG: Turkey Shoot
BSG: Armageddon

There are some other events I'm interested in...mostly minis and RPG events...but I can wait on those.  I may not sign up until I get to GenCon.

I'm also supremely lucky...I got all my events.  Brian wasn't able to get into Bring Me the Head of Neil, and just about everyone that tried was closed out of the Hogwarts LARP.  Still, today was a good day.  I can't wait until August!

The Road to GenCon
Yeah. So, my friends Mike and Brian were thinking about GenCon this year, and they said, “Hey, would you be interested?” Suddenly I got bit by the GenCon bug. Doh!

For those of you that don’t know, GenCon is a very, very large gaming convention. Basically, the biggest in the world. For those of you that know me, this is a big deal. So, we’ve figured out who’s going, for the most part. I’m going, Don’s going, Brian, Mike, Trevor and Trevor’s brother. Six in all. Ken may or may not tag along, depending on how the new job thing works out. We’ve all pre-registered for our badges…that happened over the weekend. Then, on Tuesday night…late, late Tuesday night…the event list for GenCon was posted. This is where I find there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

Since there isn’t much else to talk about yet, here’s a partial list of events that caught my interest. In most cases the description is pulled right out of the catalog.

Rock Paper Scissors Tournament Qualifier – No description necessary.

The Segway Challenge - Saturday Tournament - Up to 16 players can participate in this double elimination tourney, where you'll ride a Segway through an obstacle course and try to get the highest score! Top 3 finishers win prizes with 1st place winning a trophy, Generic Tickets and a free badge to Gen Con Indy 2008!

Build a Foam Weapon Workshop – Just because.

Making Scalemaille - This workshop will teach you how to assemble leaf shaped scales into wearable, flat scalemaille. You will learn the technique as well as learn about the tools and supplies that you need to get started.

Chain Maille (European) - This workshop will show you the technique of the European 4-in-1 chain maille often used to create the hauberks (chain shirts) and hoods that were so popular during the middle ages. This technique can also be used to make a really cool dice bag! You will have enough time to get a good start on your project as well as learn it's history. If you ever have looked at chain maille and wondered "How'd they do that?", then this is the workshop for you!

Dragonlance Q&A with Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman

Role Play, Learning and Society - Games studies has become a serious topic in education literature, but face-to-face role play is still relatively unknown, compared with computer games in education. Why study games in education? Where are researchers finding learning in games? Last year, the primary topic was transferring knowledge. This year, the talk will focus on how role play creates social opportunities for learning.

Christianity and Gaming - Join our panel discussion that looks at the history of Christianity and gaming, a variety of Christian-specific games, ways to mix faith and gaming, and how to explain gaming to your church friends and vice versa. Audience questions encouraged.

From Dice to Digital-What Computer Games Have to Learn from the Tabletop Industry

Global War on Terror - 2007 Update: National Security Lecture
"The Red Chinese Threat - Scarier this year than last?" National Security Lecture
"The Russian Navy: Still There, and Modernizing" National Security Lecture
"Submarine and Anti-Submarine Warfare" National Security Lecture
"Global Hot Spots – 2007 Update" National Security Lecture

The Order of the Stick Rides Again - Cartoonist Rich Burlew leaps into the proverbial saddle once more with a rousing series of examinations, anecdotes, and veiled hints regarding his smash hit fantasy gaming webcomic, "The Order of the Stick".

How to Write Adventures that Don't Suck – Rather self-explanatory

Knights of the Dinner Table - Live Reading - Hilarious, interactive Knights of the Dinner Table Live Reading in which members of the audience read the part of a character from the long-running KoDT comic strips! Chance to win prizes!

Hickman’s Xtreme Dungeon Mastery - Tracy Hickman (Dragonlance author and game designer) and Curtis Hickman (Professional magician and game player) presents radical player techniques which one designer of Third Edition D&D said threatened gaming itself! Learn both player and gamemaster techniques designed to put fun and adventure back in your games (and drive bad DMs and players wild) in this riotous seminar based on their upcoming book.

Star Wars: Rebel Run - Blast your way through the clutches of the Galactic Empire as your team finishes its mission before time runs out! Use one of our 3rd-level fastplay characters to get as far as you can in 20 minutes. Generic tickets only.

D&D Dungeon Delve - Hack your way through a brand-new Dungeon Delve experience! Use one of our 4th-level fastplay characters to finish as many encounters as you can in 20 minutes. The more you finish, the greater the rewards! Generic tickets only.

A Tavern and a Dragon - A Princess. A Dungeon. A Tavern. "Easy money." he said. "A simple dungeon," he said. "In and out," he said. "What kind of trouble could one little princess possibly get into?" he said. Ha... "A Dragon... no I'm not fighting a dragon."

Swashbuckling 101 - Gentlemen get the girl. Pirates get the gold. Heroes get it all. Come on out for swashbuckling fun. We'll provide the adventure, pre-generated characters, chandeliers to swing on, damsels in distress and dastardly villains to defeat. All you need to bring is your dice and a desire for heroism.

Dual Dungeon Duel - The ORIGINAL Dual Dungeon Duel that has been run at Gen Con for most of the last 25 years! Two teams of 10 people EACH enter the same dungeon at the same time under 2 separate GMs. Only one team will survive and be proclaimed the winners! You have six hours to find the gong, take the wand and summon the other team for battle or track down your opponents and ambush them. Magical Items, traps and tricks abound!

The Call of PikaChulu - Join Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu as they investigate the origins of a strangely mutated Pokemon captured by Professor Oak. A humorous adventure of cuddly madness and doom.

Battlefield Evolution - 1000 point tournament. A fast-paced and easy to learn miniatures game, with enough tactical depth to keep you hooked for years. You command small forces based on real world armies of the near future, and attempt to overwhelm your opponents with tactical skill and a healthy dose of luck! Based on supposition and projection of real world armies in the near future. You will be among the first to experience such weapons and equipment.

Battlestar Galactica: Armageddon - What if the sneak attack on the Colonies by the Cylons was anticipated? What if Colonial forces were prepared? Would the outcome have changed? Take part in determining the outcome! This is an M Collective event.

Battlestar Galactica: Turkey Shoot - A long range patrol has located a large Cylon tanker fleet. Colonial Fleet Command considers this a top priority target as this is likely the refueling group used to supply Cylon forces with recent deep strike missions into Colonial space. Colonial forces have been mobilized to seek and destroy. This is an M Collective event.

Battlestar Galactica: Mayday! - Distress signals from a Colonial merchant convoy have been received, originating from a sector of space that is marked off limits to civilian craft due to hostile actions in the vicinity. The messages are garbled, but the identification streams match known merchants. It appears it may be a Cylon trap. The Colonial 5th fleet has been dispatched to provide escort to rescue ships. What will they discover? This is an M Collective event.

REAL 3025 Battletech!, "The Solaris Open, Heavy Division" - Back by popular demand, the Solaris Arena returns to Gen Con. The original Thunderdome meets Battletech game. 12 Mechs enter and only one will leave this Gladiatorial game of 65 - 75 ton 3025 Mech designs. Come enjoy a game of the original Battletech game that got you started with 3025 technology just like we used to play. This is an M Collective event.

The Battle of Hoth - Star Wars Miniatures - 5 Imperial AT-ATs, a horde of Snowtroopers and even a couple AT-STs assault the heroic rebels trying to defend the Rebel base on Hoth. They have a meager assortment of weapons, but perhaps they can improvise, using unconventional methods. This battle uses the Star Wars Miniatures rules on a 12 foot table to recreate one of the pivotal battles of the Rebellion. 5 Imperial and 6 Rebel players are allowed. Modified Snow Speeder rules will be used.

LEGO Pirate Wars - The Original Lego Pirate Wars - Aye, maties, we be back and with a vengeance! There's treasure to be looted and pirates to be sunk as the original Lego Pirate Wars game returns to Gen Con. Run up your sweeps and run out your guns on Lego sailing ships. More at www.roguejudges.org

Silent Death Red Shirt Smash - Eliminate enemy ships and exit the map to return in a larger ship. Avoid jealous opponents and keep trading up until you're at Tier 3 then the fun really begins. Rules will be taught. Our expert GM will make sure your dogfight experience is a good one.

All Quiet on the Centauri Front - Set during the Narn/Centauri conflict, come learn the Babylon 5 Call to Arms rules while you enjoy the opportunity to blow up your opponents. This is a fun scenario meant to get your feet wet with the rules, and just enjoy some fun space combat in your favorite universe! You do not need to play any of the other All Quiet scenarios, they are all different, stand alone battles.

Bring Me the Head of Neil! - The most annoying periphery pirate in history ejected from his mech, and there is a mad scrum to recover him; a four way battle royale with each side having special victory conditions. SPECIAL: Every mech a player destroys, he/she gets to keep that mini - this is why the game price is higher than normal. Depending on # of players, you may get to keep the minis for any mechs in your lance that survive.

Secrets of the Dragon - The mercenary unit, MacGregor's Marauders, raids a top secret Draconis Combine research facility in search of new military breakthroughs and lost technology. Can they break through the defending Kurita forces and make off with the spoils?

Into the Dragon's Lair - The mercenary unit, MacGregor's Marauders, must break through Draconis Combine forces in order to destroy a seemingly impregnable bunker complex. Can the demolition team do their job before reinforcements arrive?

The Dragon's Revenge - The mercenary unit, MacGregor's Marauders, have had a successful campaign against the Draconis Combine, but now they have been caught in an ambush. The merc's must fight their way to freedom or die trying.

Rescue from the Dragon's Clutches - A downed drop ship and the units aboard are pinned down by Draconis Combine forces. The mercenary unit, MacGregor's Marauders, are called on for a rescue mission. Can the merc's reach the drop ship in time?

The Dragon Slayers - Draconis Combine forces, retreating from the mercenary unit Macgregor's Marauders, decide to make a last stand at a river crossing. Can they hold out until help arrives?

Resistance is...  - An Imperial fleet patrolling the Outer Rim is looking for a Rebel Convoy passing through the Hyperspace lane you are guarding. Alarms blare as the Interdictor Cruiser yanks an enemy fleet out of hyperspace. Sensors show the ships as they slow to sublight speed, but the computers tell you they aren’t any Rebel ship. The fleet is already being pursued, but by whom? Confusion abounds as you try to decide who is friend or foe and what to do next.

World Tank Campaigns – Re-fight classic battles of World War II by taking the role of a tank commander. Featuring incredibly detailed plastic replicas of famous tanks, customized national dice and combat cards unique to the Battle of the Bulge.

Power Grid - Earn money with different types of power plant. Spread your power supply network to different cities as you try to keep up with the customer demand.

Ran across something today...

Yes, it’s been awhile since I posted last.  Why?  ‘cause I’ve been busy with stuff, and my life is boring, that’s why!  Work’s been crazy, I’m starting to poke around for a new job because of it, school’s on temporary hold, and summer’s coming.

Anyway, the reason for this particular post…I was doing some poking around online and found this article through Instapundit…though it was a link from there that led me to another link that led to this.
I found it interesting enough that I decided to pass it along. Don’t read too much into it. I’m personally not in quite the same boat as the blogger who’s just turned 35 and really wants kids and is starting to feel desperate. For one thing, I’m not 35, and for another, the biological expiration date on men is a bit later than it is for women. Besides that, I’m not really sure how I feel about kids in general. Even if I’m not exactly enamored with it, I don’t have a serious problem with being single…which is probably a good thing, since I’m not particularly handsome (I believe thoroughly plain might describe me), not particularly wealthy, not even a little suave (unless you count my shampoo) and I’m not a very nice guy, either. Top that off with having no idea where to look, and you’ll realize that finding women who’ll both be interested in me and interest me in turn is pretty uncommon.

You’ve got to be wondering why I just wrote that. I got nothin’.

That aside, I am a human being and, believe it or not, at this point I’m not totally against relationships or marriage. The comments to the article above, and this article and this one that can be found within those comments, do sort of illustrate a lot of the problems with relationships and marriage today, in perception or reality. I found it all rather interesting, and I hope my two loyal readers will as well.

A reason I haven’t posted a lot…

…is politics.  Huh?

Well, you know I’m rather interested in the goings on in the world, and I did do some political posts pre-November.  I’m not now because, quite frankly, I would go insane.  It isn’t that it’s because I love the Republicans and hate the Democrats.  I actually hate them both…it’s just a matter of degree.  It’s just I can’t stand our current Congress…we seem particularly good at electing ever worse representatives.

To claim winning a narrow election meant that an electorate fed up with Republican cronyism gave you a mandate to do whatever the Hell you wanted is insanely dishonest.  I was hoping that maybe the Democrats would try to clean some of that corruption crap up, not that I was stupid enough to expect it.

True to my real-world predictions, they started by trying to put a former judge who’d been impeached for accepting bribes at the head of the House Intelligence Committee.  Fortunately, the Democrats are as dumb as Republicans, as evidenced by Pelosi’s attempt to make Murtha her #2 man in the House, stabbing yet another Democrat in the back.  Of course, the voters also reelected a man who’s under investigation for accepting bribes…and let me ask you, what other reason is there for storing $90,000 in unreported income in your freezer?  We can also go on about Harry Reid’s land deals or Diane Fienstein’s funneling a billion dollars in projects to her husband’s companies, but really, why bother?  For those of you that think the Democrats are better than the Republicans on corruption, here’s a news flash…they aren’t.

No, the reason I don’t post much anymore is because I’m sick of the treason of the Democratic Party.  I can hear your eye-rolls, (well, except Paul, who agrees with me).  You’re thinking that’s awfully strong rhetoric.  I’m getting carried away.

Actually, I’m not.  Jack Murtha declaring Marines to be guilty of war crimes before any sort of investigation wasn’t treason.  It was dumb, and craven, but not treason.  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid declaring he would refuse to listen to any Army General tells him something other than what he wants to hear isn’t treason, either.  Even attaching a withdrawal timetable to a funding bill for the war isn’t technically treason.  Unconstitutional?  Yes.  A major breach of separation of powers?  That too.  But not quite treasonous.

A few weeks ago Harry Reid stood up in front of Congress and declared that the war was lost.  That, my friends, is treason.  Don’t believe me?  Check out the legal definition of treason some time.  Compare the section on providing aid and comfort to the enemy with Al Qaeda’s reaction to it.  I refuse to provide links to Al Qaeda’s sites...I won’t legitimize them…but you can go look for yourself.  Then there’s Nancy Pelosi.  The Speaker of the House, the #3 person in our government, is also guilty of treason.  How, you ask?  She traveled to Syria and attempted to negotiate foreign policy without the President’s authorization.  She didn’t go on a fact finding mission…she has admitted to conducting negotiations.  Not only is that unconstitutional…foreign policy falls under the purview of the Executive Branch, with advisory responsibilities going to the Senate, not the House…but it is a violation of the Logan Act, which makes it a felony to attempt to conduct foreign policy on behalf of the United States without the President’s authorization.  Originally passed in 1799 during the Quasi-War with the French when an American pacifist undermined the US by trying to do just that, the law isn’t some obscure dusty old thing…it was last updated in 1994, and Pelosi knew she was violating it when she took her little trip to Syria.  That makes it, technically, treason.

So, politics these days tend to piss me off.  From the tempest in a teacup of Alberto Gonzales firing 8 US Attorneys (remember, Clinton fired all 93 at once) to all the crap about the war, I’m just sick of it.  There was a time, not all that long ago, really, when the opposition party would have been trying to come up with a more effective way of killing the enemy and actually winning the war.  And in this particular case, the Democrats have plenty of room for it!  As much as I admire the President’s willingness to damn his historical legacy and do the unpopular but necessary thing, the war not been run very well.  Finding better ways of winning it shouldn’t be that tough.  And before you say “but we aren’t winning it!” realize that the only way we lose is if we beat ourselves…there’s no way in Hell they can force us from the battlefield.  If you want real details on what’s been going on in Iraq rather than sensationalist media clips and Democrat doomsaying, look me up and I’ll give you a rundown, or better yet, point you to some places that can do it more comprehensively than I can.

But as I was saying, for five years the Bush administration has more or less screwed up by the numbers…admittedly with the help of the Democrats…but to be honest, they only added a little more to what has been some monumental errors.  I guess, though, that trying to win wars went out of fashion with Vietnam…now it’s just much easier for the Democrats to play politics with soldiers’ lives.  And that’s what gets me steamed.
